Roads:

The Morocco Transportation System plays a key role in easy and smooth transportation of people, goods and services. Due to great advancement in the field of science and technology, the Morocco Transportation System has developed by leaps and bounds to make the journey of the people much more comfortable and easy. In the year 2002 the total number of roadways extends up to 57,847 kilometers.

Out of this 30,254 kilometers of the roadways were paved. In the year 2000 the total number of commercial vehicles was 249,617 and that of passenger cars was 354,818.

Railroads:

The railroad system is administered by the National Railroad Office.

Total: 1907 km 1,435 mm (4 ft 81?2 in) standard gauge
    1003 km electrified with 3 kV DC
The main lines run from Marrakech to Casablanca, Rabat, and Sidi Kacem and then branch north to Tangier and east to Meknes, Fes, and Oujda (on the Algerian border).

There are connections to Algeria, and consecutively Tunisia, but since the 1990s the connections are closed. The Gibraltar Tunnel is a rail tunnel link proposed between Tangier, Morocco and Spain under the Strait of Gibraltar to be in operation in 2025.

Aviation:

Morocco has eight international airports, at Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Fès, Oujda, and Al-Hoceima. In all there were 67 airports in 2001, 26 of which had paved runways.

The government-controlled Royal Air Maroc was founded in 1953 and operates flights to the US, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; the airline also provides domestic service through a subsidiary, Royal Air Inter. In 2001, 3,680,700 passengers were carried on scheduled domestic and international airline flights.
